What Christ Gave Me.

Christ's Gift Is it selfish to keep serving God because of what he does for us?  There is a certain amount of selfishness in our lives that is healthy.  God has given each one of us an inner desire to please ourselves.  This obviously is not wrong as long as it is kept in check.  Luke 1:68-75 speaks directly to one of the most central desires of human beings.  We all have a desire to be loved and show love back.  It’s simply called “pleasing”.  We want to be pleased and long to be pleasing to others.  In it’s purest form, this desire is meant to draw us closer to Him with passion and enthusiasm.  In it’s most depraved form, this desire is manifested in wickedness of all kinds.
Luke 1:68-75 says that Christ gave us freedom to ’serve’ (please) God *without fear, *in holiness, *in righteousness, and *all the days of our lives.  This is the most fulfilling gift I could ever get.  The catch is we have to be living in this gift continually for it to have it’s most potent impact on our lives.
